Mobilexpress, which has been active in the field of financial technologies since 2011 and is among the largest online payment platforms in Turkey with around 10 million transactions per month and 15 million cards registered to its platform, received an investment of $2 Million led by Collective Spark. In addition to company partners Ali Kolaghassi, Tunç Mehmet Berkman, and Deniz Doany, Emre Tok, who served as the Vice President of Growth Strategies at Careem in the past also joined the investment.
To recap briefly, Mobilexpress offers many of its artificial intelligence-supported services such as online payment gateway, smart transaction redirection, card keeping, and anti-fraud to businesses and its customers with its platform integrated with banks and payment institutions. The venture develops special services for Turkey's leading e-Commerce, retail, insurance, and telecommunications companies.
CEO of Mobilexpress, Yunus Emre Güzer said the following in his statements on the new investment:
'First, with especially the new approach of the Central Bank of Turkey and its consecutive new regulations, we foresee that in 2-3 years, the new generation Fintechs will reach the points that businesses have reached with many difficulties and in many years, with more sustainable growth. Open Banking, PSD2, next-generation payment systems, and 360 degrees solutions will benefit both businesses and users that could not reach banking systems and businesses that wish to improve their trade.
Furthermore, in the context of reaching these points together, banks have begun to act more cooperatively over the years. With this investment, we will sustain the name and services of Mobilexpress in the code of our brand that we will recreate. I thank my partners and my team who were always with us throughout this journey from the beginning and to Collective Spark team that have never taken a step back in such a period and believed in us.'
CTO of Mobilexpress, Murat Tural pointed out that at Mobilexpress, the technological infrastructure and services that they can increase the number of transactions, which are realized as 10 million monthly, were ready. CPO of Mobilexpress, Erhan Ula signalled new products to come: 'Being a country that can be described as a paradise of credit and debit cards caused our alternative capabilities to remain insufficiently developed. In the new period, as Mobilexpress we will make both current payment methods and our methods to be developed talk to one another.'
Stating that they trust the infrastructure and the team, Collective Spark Fund co-founder Görkem Oktay said Mobilexpress had the potential to continue the success it had in our country by expanding abroad.
