ITK Ventures, supporting startups through collaborating with Tatış Holding and Startupfon made its first investment in Turkey. Being a platform where students raise questions through their smart phones, and receive rapid answers, Kunduz received an investment from ITK Ventures.
Founded in 2016 by Basar Basaran, Melih Sener and Baris Bilgic, and allowing teachers & students from all over Turkey to exchange online information, Kunduz facilitated in the answering process of a total 15 million questions within a short time period, thanks to 25 thousand active instructors. The platform serving students from the 1st grade through the 12th grade, mainly aims at contributing to equality of opportunity in test preparation mainly for the students getting prepared for tests such as YKS, LGS, KPSS, and ALES.
Students take photos of the problems they can not solve and send these photos through the app, and receive professional support through Kunduz within 15 to 30 minutes. Students can raise as many questions as they like, related to all subjects. Instructors of the platform also re-explain the answers, in case the students state that they did not understand the solution.
With its goal of reducing cost of test preparation while facilitating the learning process, Kunduz also participated in Y Combinator during the summer of 2018. Receiving investment from Y Combinator, Social Capital and Dorm Room Fund owned by First Round Capital, the startup opened up an office also in India where test preparation process and educational expenses are rather high.
Note that Kunduz received the 3rd rank in Webrazzi Arena, which was the startup contest held during Webrazzi Summit 2017.
