It was the October of 2015 when we first mentioned WeWALK, which had been developed with the aim of making life easier for the visually impaired. Information shared by the startup today stated that WeWALK received a new investment.

Technically collaborating with the world's leading universities such as Imperial College and Munich Technical University, and already having its users in 37 different countries; WeWALK received an investment of $750k, approximately 5 million TL. Information received from the startup states that the 5 million TL worth of new investment in question was supplied by major names such as Vestel Ventures, Agah Ugur, Ali Karabey, Burak Sevilengul, Erinc Ozada, Orhan Ayanlar, Sanem Bilgin Erkut, Shishir Malhotra and Uzay Kozak.

Note moreover that WeWALK developing technologies for the visually impaired reached up to thousands of users in 37 countries with its growing team of employees in Istanbul and London offices. The 5 million TL investment received will be used for the growth of WeWALK in global market and to develop its technology.

Being one of the 11 startups selected from all over the world for Microsoft's AI for Good Programme, WeWALK keeps on working with Microsoft to offer AI support for its smart cane. Note that WeWALK is a YGA startup and raised funds in Arikovani during the recent years.
