The news of Samsung producing a foldable smartphone were going around dozens of times in the past years. After decades and dozens of news, Samsung has finally unveiled its first foldable smartphone. Introduced at the developer conference held yesterday, the foldable smartphone uses Samsung's Infinity Flex Display technology.

Samsung's foldable smartphone model, which is still in prototype phase, has two different screens, one that is foldable and one that is normal. While the smaller screen that serves as a smartphone on the outside of the device, the large screen inside can be used as a tablet.

The inner display of the foldable screen is 7.3 inches. We are used to Android phones and tablets running two applications at the same time. Aiming to take this feature a step further, Samsung’s foldable phone will be able to run 3 applications at the same time.

Justin Denison, senior vice president of Samsung, who gave information about the Infinity Flex Display and the foldable smartphone model, also announced that they will start mass production of the Infinity Flex Display technology in the coming period.

Let us add that the foldable smartphone model uses the Android operating system and that this model is officially supported by Google. Although no clear date has been announced, the folding smartphone model is expected to be officially introduced in 2019. It looks like the new smartphone trend will be foldable models.

Last week as the world's first foldable smart phone model Royole FlexPai was introduced. Also let’s remind you that important names of the smartphone market except of Samsung, such as Huawei, Lenovo, Xiaomi and LG are also working on foldable smartphone models.
