Startupbootcamp Istanbul selects its class of 2015

Startupbootcamp Istanbul has announced the best startups out of 27 contenders for its 2015 program. The accelerator said they received over 500 applications from 118 cities in 63 countries.

A total of 27 finalists from 12 countries were invited to attend the Startupbootcamp Selection Days and pitch their startups to 50+ mentors. After two days of intense startup pitches, mentor sessions, and evaluations, 9 startups have been chosen for a place in 3-month Startupbootcamp Istanbul 2015 program that will start in September.

Here are the SBC Istanbul 2015 class:

Cloudhouse (Estonia): Full computer that operates right from the cloud via a client app. Includes your choice of hardware and software. Capable of running the most demanding applications.

Eventbaxx (Germany): Digital goodie bag. Enables events to share information, offers and promotions to attendees before, during, and after an event.

Monument (Turkey): A smart storage device that collects personal photos and videos from smartphones, cameras and provides a dead simple way to store, organize, share and view them.

MySlimCard (Ukraine): The next generation electronic card that keeps all your plastic cards in one device. Mobile software and web-service unite retailers and the customers to ensure the best usage of the loyalty programs.

Never Eat Alone (France): A mobile app that facilitates the formation of meaningful connections within companies over lunch.

Project Sebastian (Turkey): A cloud based mobile platform designed for the hospitality industry which allows access to services on any device, anytime, anywhere. One platform for all guest and staff requests.

SciRobot (Turkey): Makes robots more emotionally aware and social while trying to keep the cost less than a decent laptop’s price.

Segmentify (Turkey): A SaaS solution for e-commerce and content providers to increase visitor traction and convert visitors to customers by making smart recommendations.

Visionterative (Turkey): Specializes in creating digital experiences that utilize custom robotics and devices to bridge the gap between online and the real world.

In addition to extensive mentorship and six months of free office space at StartersHub, these 9 startups will each receive €15,000 seed funding and perks and special offers worth over €450,000, said the program managers. At the end of the 3-month program, startups pitch at Demo Day to more than 150 investors.
